PUBG Black Market 2025: Progressive Skins, Chromas, and Crafting Chaos
PUBG Black Market 2025 returns early with weekly Contraband Crates featuring Progressive skins and new Chromas, plus Crafter Pass rewards.
For two consecutive seasons, PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS closed out the year with the Black Market. In June 2025, the studio flipped the script and brought the market back early, letting it take over the Battlegrounds. Collectors who had been sitting on their hands suddenly had a reason to spring into action. Fan-favorite Progressive weapon skins returned, brand-new Chromas hit the shelves, and the whole operation was rolled into one tempting storefront with Contraband Crates, the Crafter Pass, and Special Crafting.

Weekly Contraband Crates
The heart of the event was a rotating lineup of Contraband Crates. Each week, a different crate stepped into the spotlight, showcasing a Progressive weapon skin and fresh Chromas. The schedule broke down like this:
| Week | Crate | Progressive Skin | Chromas |
|---|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | No Signal - Black Market 2025 Contraband Crate | M416 | 2 |
| Week 2 | Tiger Hunter - Black Market 2025 Contraband Crate | Kar98k | 1 |
| Week 3 | ZERO-G - Black Market 2025 Contraband Crate | MP5K | 2 |
| Week 4 | Deadly Dollhouse - Black Market 2025 Contraband Crate | SLR | 1 |
For the first purchase of each Black Market 2025 Contraband Crate using Open 10, a 50% discount was applied. That little sweetener appeared once per crate, totaling four times across the event. Players chasing the No Signal - M416 or ZERO-G - MP5K variants had an extra reason to celebrate: the new Chroma had a higher probability than the original Chroma. In addition, Update 36.1 changed the game for Contraband Coupon users by granting 10 Scrap per purchase, matching the G-Coin experience. The crates could also be opened with Black Market Vouchers.
For anyone keeping score at home, the unlockable cosmetics tied to Progressive weapon skins lived on the Hideout - Weapons page. Drop probabilities for items from Contraband Crates were available under Hideout - Contraband - More Details - View Probabilities.
Crafter Pass and Token Economy
The Crafter Pass: Black Market 2025 gave players a structured path to rewards like Black Market Tokens, Loot Caches, Vouchers, a Prime Parcel, and even G-Coin. It arrived in two main flavors:
-
Basic Pack at $11.99 included the premium pass, one Black Market 2025 Loot Cache, and 100 Black Market Tokens.
-
Advanced Pack at $37.99 included the premium pass, five Loot Caches, 300 Tokens, 10 levels, and a Nameplate.

The pass was not without its grind. The maximum level sat at 70, and after level 40 the Pass XP required to level up gradually increased. Players earned Pass XP by completing daily, weekly, season, and achievement missions, as well as through survival time. The early bird truly got the worm here, because Tokens had a hard expiry. On PC they expired on July 14 UTC, and on console they expired on July 22 UTC. Expired Tokens disappeared and could not be exchanged or refunded. As with many loot-adjacent systems, legal regulations meant the Crafter Pass was not available for purchase in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Workshop and Special Crafting
The Workshop received a Black Market makeover. Players could collect 10 Black Market 2025 Loot Cache Fragments to craft one Black Market 2025 Loot Cache through Regular Crafting. Fragments were handed out through various events, with details listed in the June Special Drops announcement. Progressive weapon skins and Chromas also found a home in the Workshop, giving the whole thing a more permanent feel.
A total of 48 items were craftable with Black Market Tokens in Special Crafting. The Special Crafting - Black Market 2025 tab was only accessible until its closing date, so players had to use their Tokens before the window slammed shut. Special Disassembly added another route to Tokens: disassembling Imprints obtained from the Black Market 2025 Prime Parcel.

Loot Cache Packs and Currency Options
For players looking to score more Black Market Tokens, the Loot Cache Packs were the obvious play. The packs came in four sizes:
| Pack | Price |
|---|---|
| Black Market 2025 Loot Cache Pack (x1) | 250 G-Coin or 10,000 BP |
| Black Market 2025 Loot Cache Pack (x11) | 2,500 G-Coin |
| Black Market 2025 Loot Cache Pack (x27) | 6,250 G-Coin |
| Black Market 2025 Loot Cache Pack (x55) | 12,500 G-Coin |
The x1 pack was especially flexible because it allowed the Currency Selection feature, meaning players could buy up to 50 using either G-Coin or BP. Keys were not required to open the Loot Caches, which removed one layer of friction. Previews were available for all items included in the Loot Cache Packs, and the Token expiry dates were displayed right in the Store preview. Due to legal regulations, the Loot Cache Packs were not available in Belgium and the Netherlands.

A Collector's Playground
Between the rotating Contraband Crates, the long-awaited return of Progressive weapon skins, and the fresh coat of paint from new Chromas, the Black Market 2025 gave collectors plenty to chase. It was not just about throwing money at the screen; the Workshop, Crafter Pass, and Disassembly systems created a real loop for dedicated players. Even in 2026, the 2025 edition remains a useful blueprint for how limited-time markets can blend paid crates with earnable crafting paths. Whether a player was grinding missions for Tokens or cracking open an Open 10 crate at a discount, the event pulled out all the stops.
