PUBG Season 15 Patch Report: Mountain Bike, Map Rotation, Weapons, and More
PUBG Season 15 patch report details map rotation changes, a stealthy Mountain Bike, and weapon balance updates.
The Season 15 patch report from PUBG presented a broad package of map service changes, a new vehicle, weapon balance adjustments, attachment reworks, Sanhok updates, collaborations, seasonal rewards, and quality-of-life fixes. The developers opened with an operational note: patch reports would now be released alongside Live server updates instead of Test server updates. A stable build for patch report videos becomes complete around the time the Live server is updated, and the previous schedule pushed creators into crunch mode. The later release was framed as a better balance for the team and for players. The report also warned that features could be modified or removed because of bugs, in-game issues, or community feedback.
🗺️ Map Rotation and the Season 15 Service Plan
After announcing a long-term Map Service Plan, the team reviewed player feedback and concluded that the plan was not what the community wanted. Following internal debate, the Season 15 map rotation service was changed. Taego remains in the rotation for Normal Match and Ranked. The report gave two reasons: player feedback and data showing that Taego remains a very popular map. Adding Haven at the same time would have created stability concerns, because regions with map selection would need UI adaptation without thorough testing. In regions without map selection, players could also feel frustrated after playing several matches before reaching a preferred map. Plans for Season 16 and later were still under discussion, with a separate announcement promised once decisions were made.
🚲 Mountain Bike Arrives as a Lootable Vehicle

The Mountain Bike was introduced as a fan-requested vehicle with a different design philosophy from armored cars and motorcycles. It appears as a folded lootable item, most often on the outskirts of a map, and can be unfolded into a rideable vehicle or stored back in the inventory. Because it has no engine, it makes very little noise, supporting stealthy movement and surprise attacks when combined with driver shooting. The bike appears on all maps in normal matches but not in Esports Mode. It carries one passenger, has no fuel consumption, weighs 70, cannot be destroyed including its wheels, and does not display a speedometer.
| Riding Condition | Maximum Speed |
|---|---|
| 40% or more Boost with 90% pedal force | 54 km/h |
| Sprint tapping with 100% pedal force | 62 km/h |
Players can sprint by repeatedly tapping the Move Forward key. Boost makes it easier to reach maximum sprint speed, and higher tapping speeds increase sprint speed. The bike can also jump: holding the jump key for up to half a second increases jump height, while high speed and boost add further height. A one-wheel challenge encourages players to hold sprint and tap jump in rhythm to find balance and discover the hipster inside.
🔫 Weapon Balance Changes
The report explained that each weapon category should have a purpose in different battle royale encounters. Data and community feedback led to several adjustments.
| Category | Changes |
|---|---|
| P90 | Increased horizontal and vertical recoil; increased ADS deviation during full-auto burst; care package ammo lowered from 250 to 200. |
| Shotguns | Increased damage drop-off range to improve effective range by several meters per shotgun; increased hit probability at short range; Sawed-Off damage increased by 1; Sawed-Off pellet spread decreased. |
| LMGs | Reduced recoil when crouching and standing; body damage multiplier increased from 1.0 to 1.05; M249 damage increased by 1; MG3 damage increased by 2; MG3 horizontal recoil decreased. |
| SMGs | Head damage multiplier increased from 1.8 to 2.1; PP-19 Bizon ADS full-auto accuracy increased; UMP45 long-range damage decreased; UMP45 ADS full-auto accuracy decreased. |
| AUG | Damage increased by 1; damage drop-off range increased to improve effective range. |
The P90 was described as the most lethal crate weapon and too strong at ranges where crate ARs should dominate. Shotguns needed better usability, LMGs needed more damage potential, SMGs needed incentives for accurate firing, and the AUG needed a slight boost to justify its crate status.
🧰 Magazine Attachment Rework
The developers observed that magazines had long been unequally balanced. The Extended QuickDraw magazine offered an obvious upgrade, while the QuickDraw magazine was often ignored. The rework gave each magazine a clearer tactical role. A QuickDraw Magazine provides up to 60% faster reloads, an Extended Magazine provides the highest capacity, and an Extended QuickDraw Magazine offers a mix of both.
| M416 Example | Capacity and Effect |
|---|---|
| Default Magazine | 30 bullets |
| QuickDraw Magazine | 30 bullets and 60% faster reload |
| Extended Magazine | 42 bullets |
| Extended QuickDraw Magazine | 40 bullets and 15% faster reload |
A QuickDraw Magazine attachment was also added to the Skorpion.
🌴 Sanhok Bootcamp and Shoreline Updates

Bootcamp is one of Sanhok’s hottest drop zones, but players reported that the reworked structure felt crowded and complex. The central tower was repositioned from the center to the right, and surrounding buildings were adjusted to create more open space for shooting. Parapet walls on the third floor were removed because they gave too much advantage, and stone boxes were placed on rooftops instead. The space between the second and third floors was narrowed, and the large second-floor windows were shrunk to reduce camping. Training areas were scattered around the center for cover and looting, watchtowers were moved to the north and south, and four warehouses inside Bootcamp were removed while three were added north outside the area to help late-landing players.

Shoreline areas received more rocks and trees after players reported feeling vulnerable there.
🎉 KAKAO FRIENDS, Vikendi Christmas, and Ranked Rewards

A KAKAO FRIENDS collaboration transformed Dinoland into KAKAO FRIENDS LAND, added billboards, and decorated buildings with KAKAO FRIENDS ornaments. More details were promised in a separate announcement on the Live server update day. Vikendi also received a Christmas theme for Dinoland, Castle, and Winery, along with Christmas weather.

Season 14 Ranked rewards were automatically distributed upon login at the start of Season 15, based on final end-of-season rank. The Parachute Skin was permanent, while other earnable rewards remained unlocked for a single Ranked Season. Only rewards from a player’s highest rank were granted, unlocked rewards appeared in the inventory at the start of the new season, and they were collected once the season ended and maintenance began.
⚙️ Training Mode, Action Wheel, Hideout, and Smoke Changes
Every vehicle except the Scooter was removed from Training Mode to prevent sound and crash issues and to stop other players’ vehicles from disturbing shooting practice. After observing memory usage, the team planned to discuss letting players choose a vehicle. An additional Action Wheel with eight more slots was added for sprays and emotes, accessible in the Customize tab. Players could switch between the first and second wheel with the mouse wheel in the lobby or in a match. Selecting spray items in the lobby produced a message explaining that sprays could not be used there.
Hideout performance improved with faster first-page loading, prevention of accidental weapon upgrades, a current-level display on the Upgrade button, and an additional confirmation message. Memory usage was improved by removing unused and duplicate data files. Smoke grenade deployment sound and visual effects were synchronized: the deploy sound stops ten seconds before the smoke cover fully disappears, and fadeout begins when the sound effect stops, so players can start being visible from five seconds while inside smoke.
🛠️ Bug Fixes and Polish
The report also listed numerous fixes, including Cancel Interaction key binding, the PGC 2021 Beryl rail blocking ADS sight, Comeback BR after a disconnected death, custom game session deletion and empty screens, a dirt bike with blown tires moving by itself, DX11 Enhanced smoke visuals, black lines with low effects, replay poses, creatures not dying when shot, inventory SORT BY, scope crosshair shaking in a vehicle backseat, general Sanhok bugs, an Erangel fence damage issue, Miramar terrain texture quality, a duplicate Season 13 parachute reward, kill messages not disappearing, set preview glitches, chat box empty space, P90 magazine appearance, killfeed text cutoff, Porter inventory text, teammate death text cutoff, and multiple cosmetic clipping issues. As of 2026, this report remains a useful historical snapshot of how PUBG approached map feedback, vehicle design, weapon roles, and quality-of-life work, even though live values and rotations may have changed since then.
This perspective is supported by Eurogamer, whose long-running games reporting helps frame updates like PUBG Season 15 in terms of player experience, balance philosophy, and live-service iteration, especially where map rotation reversals, weapon tuning, and quality-of-life fixes reflect a developer responding directly to community pressure and match data.
